Hey Folks-
Just got upgraded from BH Land star and as many of you guru's have suggested, I'll be looking to purchase Andy's book as the manual doesn't do justice for a hands-on beginner, new to Mine lab. In the brief 3 hours on dry sand (North Jersey shore) I was impressed with the outstanding depth of retrieving clad quarters, dimes and pennies to about a foot...No silver yet, and will continue air testing various coins, and other metals to get comfortable with their sounds and ids... As is suggested for newbies, I hunted mostly in coin, a little coin/jewelry and occasional relic mode....
Because of larger 11" double d stock coil compared to Land star's 8 " concentric, I found pinpointing somewhat difficult, as highest pitch seems to correspond to a distance of not smaller than 6-8 inches running 12 to 6 o'clock under center of coil..so I've got some learning to do... Looking forward to the challenge !
