I'm looking for information on proper setting procedures for my Garrett XL 500. I'm new to detecting and am not sure on whether setting the threshold first or the discrimition.

I hope you didn't buy that for detecting small gold objects! Discrimination is nothing, set Threshold, even if discriminarion on PI worked, you would discriminate out gold items. Good Luck! Don
