Went back again for a few hours to the same area and still producing. 1894, 1898 and 1887 IH, 1920 merc and some wheaties.

I thought I would try some new scenery and went to the second oldest park in my area. My first coin was the seated dime but not much after that and, it's seen better days.

Cool finds! How deep were the indians?

Looks like the Safari is doing a good job for you

The majority of the IHs I find at the park are between 4"-6" deep and have a solid tone. They ID at 31-34 and have a different tone than wheaties. I know about 90% of the time when an IH is below the coil.
There have been articles in metal detecting magazines about this park and word gets around in this detectorist community. I have many of conversations with others about where I hunt and always they say "that place is hunted out". I have had park goers stop to chat and tell me "I've" seen many metal detectors in this park...etc, etc. I hit the hilly and brush covered areas and stay clear of the flat grassy land. My finds have proved my system works.

Regarding hunted out parks, there is an old one block square park in my town that has been hunted for years and was right across the street from a detector dealer who sent his clients over to field test their new machines. This summer, thought I would try it even though it was reported as "hunted out". In three visits over a couple of weeks, found 3 merc's 2 indian heads, one buffalo, several wheats and two barber dimes plus many newer coins. So hunted out means very little me me. This is a wide open park, flat and only has a few mature trees in it. Seldom is anything hunted out.
