With all the physical ailments the CTX is just too heavy for me to use so I’ve started using the XP Deus. I bought it for my wife about 5 years ago and she lost interest quickly because of all the iron she was digging and I did the same for the first 3 or 4 times I tried it before understanding the signals and ID. I have been going back to my oldest sites that have only produced large cents and early Indians thinking there was surely some small silver hiding amongst all the iron and even bought several coils that I thought might see through all the nails and iron better than all the different Minelabs did.
So far I have to admit that 20 years of 5 different Minelabs hunting these sites left very little to be found other than buttons, 32 rimfire cases and odd pieces of brass. For me I have to say the the Deus will find extremely small pieces of non ferrous metal and with a couple settings it will go deep, I just can’t get it to do both at the same time. The really good part of this is I can swing this machine as long as want with no physical pain and no wires is wonderful so I’ll stick with and maybe try some new sites and see how it does. Just my opinion.
