Sand Shark/Infinium LS/Dual Field :unsure:

[size=medium]Please feedback welcome. Pros's, Con's, indifference's. I thought I had decided on the Whites until my Excal initial repair cost started me thinking on the Tesoro lifetime warranty. I am kinda fond of the Tesoro's, owned a Lobo ST and a Tejon. Loved them both. This will be my first PI and would like to hear from all.

tesoro does have the best guarantee but ya might want to checkout detector pro-they have a PI unit out-heard nothing but good about it-also if you read in different post they're(detector pro) service is second to none in getting the job done and the unit back in your hands.I've got the wader and consider it the best in its class.it deep, accurate and with its controls in headphones it so light an all day hunt is not out of the question even with my bad shoulders.just some things ya might want to consider-besides saving money without loosing quality is always a good thing in my book

I've got a Sand Shark.
Can't compare performance to others since I haven't used the others.

The Sand Shark over the beach has stable performance. It balances very well and is easy to swing for long periods.
A good set of alkaline batteries last longer than the advertised battery life.
The more time I spend with the Sand Shark the deeper I am hearing and digging targets.

I like the concept of all the electronics in the headphones on the Detector Pro Headhunter PI and I like the look of the 11 inch coil. Coil looks streamlined and like it may not have a lot of drag through the water. It does not have a lot of surface area to catch waves and flip the coil up like sometimes happens with the Sand Shark coil. Detector Pro is only rated for 6 feet deep in the water ... Sand Shark rated for 200 feet; that implies a significant difference in resistance between the two to water getting into the circuits. For anyone who just walks into the water and doesn't dive, it may not present much of a real difference.

I got a great price on a used Sand Shark a while back and it has not disappointed.

If you buy a Garrett Infinium LS make shore you have a good Passport ,because you never know what country you will end up in when you dig a target. It's the deepest MD out there today.I dig pennies at 18 to 24 inches,post ear ring at 8 to10 inches.And I'm talking little ear rings,the gold ones. Ron Lord Naples ,FL .

Wow junklord, glad i got the Dual field, i don't want to did a 2 foot hole for a penny although ive done it on a damn bottle top sounds like slave labour to me

Just wanted to thank everyone for their input.

Junklord, I had heard that some of the Infinium's could not handle the extreme mineralization of some salt water beaches. I did hear that it does go deep. I had my eye on one, but with my luck I would get one that would not stabilize.

TVR, how is the depth ? I read on a review that he got the depth of his Excal. I have an Excal and I was wanting more depth that is why I was going with the P.I. I do like the Tesoro's.
