Sand Shark

Anyone ever relic hunt with the Sand Shark? I'm considering getting one for bad Culpeper dirt where only the GPX's seem to work well, but ain't gonna spend 5 grand. Thanks for your help.

I am presently considering buying one to use at the beach, but have wondered the same thing.
I have not hunted in Culpepper, but live just south of Charlottesville and have a school yard that has some red, red, clay and very hard to deal with.
I have managed to pull some older coins out with my musketeer advantage, but have been wondering if the Sand Shark would perform well at this site.
If I get one and get a chance to use it up there, I will let you know how it does.
Being a PI detector, it should just ignore the bad ground and there doesn't seem to be much trash, so this may be a good testing ground for it.
I have read where many folks have stated that the area you are referring to has some of the worst soil they have ever dealt with.
Maybe one day I'll get up that way and see for myself.

Looks like no one has ever used one for relic hunting I guess.

Well it should work , it will pick up every single chunk of metal in the ground.

I'm new to this and just bought the Tesoro sand shark. I live in long beach NY and hope to do well this summer. My daughter is 3 and loves to dig in the sand so figured I have a great digger. Lol.

I am new to the form. I am going to get a sand shark but I heard that the wave hit hard fold back the coil. What can you about it? Tesoro Kidd

You can make a bracket to stablize the coil and keep the waves from making it pivot.
I think you can also buy them, but it shouldn't be to hard to make your own.

Might want to look at the Whites tdi pro, at least if you wanted disc in a P.I. unit. From what I hear they are even better in hot ground than the minelab, but they still go from $1300.00 to $1700.00 depending on what model you want. What really sucks about them is the [rechargeable] 5hr battery life.
