Sand Shark

I had been wanting a waterproof detector to use at the beach around here (Oregon) and found a 6 mo. old Tesoro Sand Shark for $250. I thought that this was a great deal so I got it. Haven't had a chance to really use it yet. Wondering now, though, whether I should have got it, or waited as I really can't see on this, or other forum websites where it is used/talked about much. Is this a decent detector? I also thought that it might work okay in fresh water around here as the river/creek beds are quite highly mineralized. Any thoughts/comments from all you experts out there? Thanks much!

Well, it is good price, isn't the most sensitive PI detector to small gold objects, it will have variable problems with no way to ground balance, but if you are using on the beach it should be adequate, isn't the deepest detecting, it is hampered by the printed circuit coil, but you should have fun and learn something and maybe upgrade later, you should make money on it at eBay! Good Luck...Don
