Sandshark depth?

Wish I could tell you. I'm starting my second year with a Sand Shark. I don't use it in dirt and seldomly use it in sand areas where estimating depth is possible.

Most of my time with the Sand Shark is in areas where I dig and the sand fills right back in. If I miss the target with the scoop, I don't know if I missed it on depth or was to the side a little.

With the 10.5 inch coil, I did get a quarter at about 10 inches in damp sand where the walls held up and didn't collapse. It sounded off very well as in I'd expect to be able to get the same coin a little deeper; but I haven't dug a nickle in similar sand.
