My buddy and I again were weaving our way through the woodlands right at first morning light. And, my bud found a jeep, among a few other curio's.
Myself, I was able to get the 5 x 10 coil over a 1918 wheat and a 45P war nickel pretty early in the hunt. The war nickel came from some hard turf right on the edge of the woods.
A little while later while trying to navigate through some thorny vines and thick vegetation I got a nice clean 74 reading and recovered the 1931 Mercury dime.
Not to long before our hunt ended I recovered a medal that appeared to have a golfer on it. Once cleaned, that what it was, a golfer and on the reverse side was 1939...prep...champions. And, for the first time this fall, the 3 Merry Widows showed up. Un-fortunately, I nearly shredded the tin prying it out from under and beside a down tree trunk.
Both of us were swinging DST F 75's with the 5 x 10 DD coil on. Great coil for woods hunting! It can be pushed in some tight spots and gets good depth. Everyone, dig em good this weekend. HH jim tn
