Saturday April 2nd - Indian Head & V Nickel

Hello all!

I headed back to a green that I know has been pounded... but I always seem to come home with at least a few keepers from this site...

Including at least one Indian Head Penny every trip there :)

I had fun and many 12/11 5"-8" signals... Most of them were small cal casings...

This was a 12/38 @ 3-4" signal... It is large and heavy piece of lead... but I'm thinking drop from a reinactment as it was not deep... *shrug*

This was a 12/29 6" signal...

This 1890 Indian Head was a 12/33 and had me a little fooled... but it was a strong signal and consistant both ways...

This 1895 V was 12/11 @ 5-6"...

I hope everyone had a great hunt this weekend!

GREAT looking finds, why would a 12-33 fool you for the indian? If I got that reading the first thing I would think would be indian if it were 5" or deeper.

I guess for me I see them more in the 35+ range... Don't know why I wasn't thinking indian... *shrug*

I get indians all over, it is pretty RARE to ever see an indian on the 12 FE line, it is normally 8,9,10

and CO is anywhere from 31-36
