Saturday's SEF deepies...fatty, silver, and GOLD!!!

Not all these were super deep. Like the 1863 fatty. It was only a few inches deep. The other indian was a good 10 inches deep and the gold ring was about that too. That's a 10k men's high school class ring. I've contacted the maker to figure out what the school is. Anyway, it's been a long time since I've gotten a good gold ring! The Vicky dime and the V nickel were in the same hole giving a tone about half way between the two. I'm getting to like the 10 x 12 more and more. I'm thinking of other places where I need to try it out where there may be deep ones still hiding. Hope my arm holds up...that coil gets heavy if you don't take breaks from swinging often.

Anytime you can pull a Gold Class Ring from the ground, it just makes that outing more fun and doing what we love...metal detecting! Congrats on the Ring! Nice Fatty also. What's the year on the Canadian Dime??? Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.

Very nice digs there Neal.:clapping: I wish you luck in trying to return that class ring to it's owner. It's always nice to get a class ring back to the person who lost it. Good luck on your next outing as well. HH.

and it is 14K stamped and engraved on the inside "From Mother & Dad '41" (not sure if that's 1841 or 1941, probably the latter) -- it doesn't look as massive as the one Neal found and mine hit just below a nickel....didn't quite sound like a modern nickel - I thought it was either an older nickel or junk and was pleasantly surprised by Gold. Only the 2nd gold initial ring that I've found in 10 years. I haven't had a chance to photograph it yet, but wanted to let you know where it hit. The ring part itself was cracked (maybe why it was lost) and it looked like there was some 70 year old adhesive on the gold probably from some sort of tape that I easily cleaned off with some Undu, but the crack in the ring part probably also affected the signal. I may have it fixed because it's such a nice looking ring and see where it hits.
