First of all it is a lot of work to put a show like this together. Someone is doing a lot of research in finding virgin places to metal detect within state and federal laws. And when they get there they have to knock on doors and sell themselves to homeowners. We know they go to places and its a total bust. The show is only a half hour long, its a lot of editing and of coarse, there is script writing. Rick Savage was a detectorist when he was younger. His wife is really behind the scenes but does a lot of research on places with Rick and the costs of the travel and dig expenses.
Rick Savage was actually a good wrestler and the show capitalizes on the hype with the "Boom Baby Boom" !
We can actually learn from the show. They actually do find some interesting artifacts.
