school house find

New member
I dug this by a one room schoolhouse foundation, it is nickle plated brass. I posted it on another forum and there was another one posted there, also not IDed. The other one was in better shape and had DRP.50863 witch is a pre war German patent number. From that number I think it is about a 1889 patent. can anyone ID it or does anyone know where to search DRP numbers ? Thanks.

Does this have a tapered hole or could there be a missing part inside. The way it opens and the fact you found it in a school yard it could be a PENCIL SHARPENER. That is just a guess. Can you take some better pictures of it?

Trocar thanks for your reply, No no taper and the hole is only 1/4" Dia. to small for pencil. my guess is something is missing from it. I do not have good cam so my pics get no better at this time but here is link to my other post, it has more pics and also pics of the one found by someone else that are better quality pics.

Well, this has got me nuts-- The only other thing I could guess is maybe a "POINTER HANDLE" of some sort. The 1/4" would be about correct. I hope you keep checking and post it if you find out. If not, just put it away for awhile, the answer will always show up,sometimes years later. Good Luck!
