School hunt finds of 11-17-13

Did my research and discovered where an old grandstand once stood behind an old small town school. I drove the 50 miles to get there on a Sunday and when I arrived, I was pretty frustrated to find it completely chainlink fenced and gates locked. The only part of the school with public access was the very front of the school. The grandstand was there in the 1920s, so I was hoping for old silver. No such luck. Hunted where I could and found: Wheat cents of 1918 and 1944; Nickel of 1957; Chinese cash; Silver Dallas Cowboys pendant; Single crimp ring slug; Silver plated floral button; 12Ga Winchester Nublack shell: 12Ga REM-UMC Shurshot shell; Chrome ball bearring.

Looks like you had a real good time - congrats on all the finds !

When you have a chance, call the grounds supervisor at the school and see if you can make some arrangements to hunt where you wanted to go. If you explain you will be doing "non-destructive" digging and picking up trash, they will oft times work something out.

Go get some more good stuff!......
