We got wind chill today that's not quite that bad, but DANG, a 30 mph wind is hard to buck= NASTY-NASTY:thumbdown:

Yeah they are really tough to beat. I've seen them do some outstanding things for customers like sending out a brand new machine for a junker that was sent in - completely free of charge. That's one reason why they are the biggest there is. Happy customers are forever customers and Garrett goes that extra mile to keep theirs happy.

Well those days are over, or they just don't like me. They're charging me nearly $100 to fix mine...

What's wrong with it? A century note doesn't fix much these days.

Well, the Garrett tech said they had to add a new ribbon connector and some circuit board. They did offer to swap out the Crossfire coil for the ProFormance version, for $80 extra. Other than that, it's a cash-for-repair deal.
Which is no less than I expected. I mean, hear stories about Garrett doing this or that for free or sending a whole new detector, or whatever, and it gets my hopes up. But that's my fault. They're just running a business.
I'll pony up after the Holly Days and get it back.
