Scorpion Gold Stinger pinouts??

I have a DFX/MXT 14" Excelerator that sems to "fit" my Gold Stinger. I have read some posts about the 12.5" Gtax coil "fitting".
Any help before I turn on this combo would be appreciated.

Thanks:sadwalk:

I would check with Mary at Garrett - maryp@garrett.com - before you blow something. The Stinger operates at a much higher and different frequency than the other machines you mentioned.

The coil connector fits. The Excelerator is for the White's MXT/DFX which operates at 14kHz and 5/15kHz respectively. I think the Scorpion operates at 15kHz.
Would it work if the pinouts are the same?

Like bill said. Check with Garrett's before you put the coil anywhere near the detector, as there is a high risk of blowing the circutry on your detector if they're not compatible. Check with Whites as well.

Do not worry, I cannot afford to "blowup" either. I may ask about Garrett's 12.5" coil as an alternative. I am just not used
to hunting the beach with small coils.:goodnight:

Yeah just because they have the same pin pattern doesn't mean squat. Since the accelerator is an after market coil it's hard telling what it will fit. I tested a 12 incher for Kellyco some time ago and it didn't do anthing the factory coil wouldn't do but it was wired to fit Garretts.
