Scorpion, is ground balance fixed in discriminate mode?

Does the scorpion use fixed ground balance in discriminate mode, or does it autotrack like a White's GMT?

What the heck is the difference between disc/auto and disc/manual?

Thanks

Ok, called Garrett. They said auto is automatic "Threshold tune" not auto ground balance.

Huh, I'm new to this, what does that mean?

The Scorpion has a preset level of fixed Ground Balance in the Disc mode. it does not have Auto ground track in any mode.

Auto selection on the Scorpion refers to the Threshold tone; In this switch position The detector will automatically maintain the level of threshold sound that you have set the Audio control to. In Manual position you have to set the threshold manually and if the threshold level drifts up or down a bit from where you set it then you have to press the retune button to re establish your setting. In this mode if you want to reset the threshold to a lower or higher level then you must press and hold the retune button while turning the audio control to the new level that you want the threshold to be.

In the Auto position you only have to alter the position of the Audio control in order to reset the threshold to a different level
