%@#& scratch proof shield for E-Trac

Has anyone purchased the %@#& (can't say the name on here) scratch proof shield for the E-Trac front recently and had problems with the fit? I recently got a new E-Trac after having my old one stolen a month ago. Ordered a front shield (had one on my old E-Trac & loved it) for it, but the fit is wrong (cut too wide, 2nd one). I think I remember this problem (had read this somewhere) with the front only package from when I was ordering for my old E-Trac, so I got the one which included the side coverage and the front fit perfectly. Only problem is the package with the side coverage is no longer offered. Thanks.

I do use the same shield but I bought mine from there discontinued stock and simply cut it to fit with sissors. I made it fit just fine. But then I wanted to use the rain cover for the outside and then the plastic cover on it also reflected the sun so I had to get another one for the rain cover. Works ok but the layering in the sun makes it a little harder than without the dust cover but I wanted the protection.

I am very sorry to read that some worthless slob stole your first E trac. Glad to see that you are able to get back to what you enjoy.

Every new detector should have one, they are the best thing you can do to protect your screen. When i watch the clips of people finding coins i just shake my head when i see there 1,200.00 to 1,500.00 dollar detector screen all scratched up.

Where do you actually buy a cover from?

There are two different things referred to in this thread, one a screen cover, made of plastic that goes directly onto the screen of the detector, the other is a rain cover or enviromental cover as it is also called this goes directly over the head unit of the detector. The "scratch cover" will not protect from rain while the other does as well as protecting your screen from scratches. Covers from Minelab are on backorder...most of the time! I got a Sunray cover from Detector Depot..a sponsor here Sunray is another sponsor here, I like it quite well and I think it is nicer than the Minelab fits better as it is E-Trac specific.
