troyer

New member
Just read an ad in the gold prospectors magazine offering the sd2200ve for $1798.95 and was wondering if this is a good price, I believe there are a few models available and how does this one compare to the others.
thanks

Try the Yank-Aussie Forum and/or the PI Forum here on "Jump to forum...." link above. Yes a good price new and the SD 2100 is selling for about $1,200 new as well. The SD 2200 is a very good machine and has about the same depth being as good as the newer GP/GPX machines on large size gold. BUT the SD 2200 is not as good on small gold and not as quiet in some circumstances without Dual-Voltage Technology. I owed both the SD 2100 and SD 2200 and loved them both. The SD 2100 is manual GB and the SD 2200 has auto GB. If you hunt in Fixed GB anyway the SD 2100 will work fine. If the ground changes alot you will be happy you bought a SD 2200. You might want to try a CoilTek 12x24" DD "Big Red" on the SD's.

Also look a the Garrett Infinium LS is not quite as good, but close, and lighter.
