SE and F75...

I have both and so far I find three things that the SE has over the F75.

The TID on the SE may be slightly better, after you learn to read it. However the F75 TID is much easier to use, it beeps and show's a number while the SE beeps and you have to get the threshold tone back before you get the crosshairs or numbers. Once you get the threshold back, you have more info, once you get it back...

The build quality is better on the SE.

The tones are more pleasing to the ear on the SE.

So far those are the only things that I can find that are better on the SE. I have not been able to compare depth or ID at depth yet and this is what will make the difference to me, if in fact the SE is better at depth.

I have both too. Don't you like the length of the tones on the SE better? For the life of me, I can't get used to the F75's short, choopy tones. I don't know if it's my F75 machine and I need to send it in. I bought the smaller F75 coil, it will be here at the end of the week so I'm gonna see if it's my coil's bad or the machine. I can't wait.

I am more used to the short tones so the SE is harder for me to understand. They are both good machines. I just need to go somewhere that's not hunted to death so I can find out a little more about the SE.

I'm going to some new places on Saturday. I was using my F75 yesterday in disc, with the disc on 0, sens on 80, in JE mode. It was so sensitive it was literally getting a hit every two or three inches but the good tones are right in there and easy to pick out.

To me going from the SE to the F75 is like going from work to vacation, but again, I am much more used to the F75. Give me time and I am sure the SE will be just as enjoyable for me. My biggest grips is the weird multiple tone hits with the SE, I don't understand that.
