Hi I live in AZ and frequently hunt in and around school playgrounds, the problem i have is I can't seem to get any closer than about a foot or so from all the playground equipment with my SE. I have used a sovern for the past 6 years and have been able to get within about 3 or 4". Anyway if anyone has any tips that will allow me to work closer please let me know. Thanks

I dont know but maybe running a small coil and turning the sens down lower and lower might get you a little closer. And for real slow kicks, the sunray probe.

Hi Azminer,

I do the same sort of hunting here in Oz and I run into your problem with the playground equipment, Because I not permitted to dig holes in the lawns I usually have the sensitivity set at five, however when I get into the woodchips of the playgrounds I generally run the sensitivity up as high as possible after doing the bulk of the playground I set the sens back to five and get as close to the equipment as I can, I find the items lost recently are not very deep in the woodchips so you don't need heaps of power to pick them up,,This works for me,,hope it helps

Regards...Boony

I agree re. the sensitivity - turn it down to 8 or so, and see if that's enough depth. Wood chips are usually not that thick, and often underneath is a 'membrane' that's really hard to get through! (Oh - I wasn't supposed to dig through that?)
