SE Digital Reading Question?? HELP !!

grumpy

New member
Hey can anyone explain to me how or why the Minelab SE is doing the following ?? I program the machine to take most coins old and new and a few rings and there are no targets programed in on the left side of the screen. I also have a program where I use IM and saved it but it is blanked out on the left of about 14 so nothing in either program should show a high ferous number. I hunt in Digital. The following happens with both programs and both the 8 and 10 minelab coils. I hit targets that read 31 F 29/ 30/ C and then I hit targets that read 30F 29/ 30 C . How can that reading come up if you have that side of the detector blocked out ????? I know if you have a target programed in that is like 31 F and 5 C and another that is 5 F and 31 C and nothing else the machine it can read a target that is 31 F and 31 C somehow and 5 F and 5 C also even tho there is no target in that reads these numbers it can pic because the F and C numbers are there.????
Really appreciate any help. Understanding makes using it easier and I dont understand how it is doing this. May the machine be ill???
Thanks much for all the help past and in the future.

I don't know if this makes any sence or not but I have on more than one occation dug a silver quarter in the upper left corner of the screen.
I know you blanked it out but the SE is a very sensitive machine and the digital is unstable in some cases. Try digging by tune and cross hair and use the digital as a back up.

If you want to read a display get an MXT, otherwise learn the sounds and you'll do a whole lot better.

Thanks for the idea but I like the Ex II and SE and have no problems using them but my hearing is about gone so I use digital and dont have the option most to go by tones. But thanks anyhow.
