SE Pro produces another silver "first" today...

Since posting finds seems to be welcomed by most who read this forum... :)

Went out this morning with my hunting partner to an old, hammered park -- hunted a few hours and found mostly modern clad. My partner got one wheat, and did land a nice, small sterling silver ring, and some clad. I had only managed one wheat and some clad, and what appears to be a copper or bronze "concho" of some sort. With just an hour left in the hunt, and not much old coinage to show for it, we decided to move to a different portion of the park. We immediately started picking up wheats, got a couple each, and that got our hopes up that we might finally hit some silver. We were fooled a couple of times by some good sounding targets -- a deep clad quarter, some copper tubing, etc. But, right before we left, I hit one more of those good-sounding, warbling, flutey htts; while I was half expecting another deep clad quarter, I was happy to catch the glipse of a silver rim when I cracked open the plug! It was a '44 S Washington -- my first silver quarter. It was down 4-5", and was a pretty steady 00-29 digital ID. Was using Bryce's settings...

Sorry, no pics -- I put it into a 2x2 coin holder before I remembered to snap the picture! DUH! :)

Thanks everyone,

Steve

Congrats on the first. I haven't found a silver quarter yet with the SE, only dimes and a half.
