Sea Hunter Depth

Hello , just wondering if anyone could tell me what kind i depth you normally get with the upgraded 10 inch coil on the sea hunter II .
I have the 8 inch and most of my targets are around the 6 inch mark

With no discrimination running, you should get an easy 10"-12" using that coil. Good luck with your finds.

I run the 8 inch on mine and have found many coins up to 10 inches for pennies and deeper for the rest. I am curious are you using standard or discrete? How's your swing speed? I use standard only and my swing is fairly slow and steady, it seems to help my ears pick up the faint blips better. Just a thought. Good luck!

Hey Lightstryder,
I run both standard or discrete . I run standard with it set at 2 1/2 in the water to stop alot of the false signals, and out of the water set at 1, again to stop the false signals
When im running discrete im set at 0 . I rarely hear low beeps , maybe i am swinging it to fast Thanks for the tip , however i know that i move like a turtle in the water . im going to set up a air test depth test , ill post my results . Thanks !

Air testing doesn't work too well with PI machines, so don't be too disappointed. I love my SH, it definitely goes deeper than I want to dig sometimes though I must admit, lol. I once got a faint signal on the dry sand and ended up digging three feet down to find six aluminum cans in a pile. They were sodas I haven't seen since the 80's, so it was actually kinda cool!

Well just in case anyone is interested in my air depth test that i just done on my sea hunter with 8 inch coil .
not really detailed just quick test with ruler

std mode with diss set on zero
coins 5-10-25-cent -------- 6-9 inch's
24k gold ring -----------------8-9 inch's
zippo lighter ------------------12 inch's

Maybe my machine is not performing as well as your is Lightstryder

Ok i didn't know this , well maybe im ok then , i had this machine for about 1 month, probably have about 16 hours time on her so im still learning.

Salt*Life, you got yourself a great machine. All I can tell you is what works for me, but our ground conditions might be completely different and so our results will vary for sure. I do know that, that machine will not let you down if you are willing to spend a little time getting to know her. Not much of a technical learning curve to the SH, but getting to know what she likes, as far as swing speed will make all the difference in the world. Enjoy!!

bad news set at 2 1/2 on standard loses small gold and white gold.depth very shallow on the good stuff set that high.I did the same thing when i got mine to calm the noise down.no gold.took out some gold and tested in the water and zero is where you need to be.The larger coil covers alot more ground,but more difficult to pin point.Shape and tone will come to you as you use it and the gold will come!I cashed in 900.00 in the first 2 1/2 months using it .It works!

I cover so much more ground with the bigger coil so its a no brainer for me.Deep sand in most areas here on te west coast of florida.most finds are not that deep any way.pin pointing is critical.dont overdig your holes .start shallow then pinpoint then dig.hit low tide knee deep and find the hard sand going to the deerper water.do a zig zag to find the line then work around each target to see if you found a zone.bigger coil smoother in the waves as far as noise .hope this helps.good luck.!
