Security feature?

heavymetal

Not sure if this was thought of already.

Knowing how expensive some of our metal detector is, lets say the $600 and above ones, would it be too much if they added a security feature on the detector?

Like the ones on smart phones where in you have to enter a passcode for you to operate your phone.

Same with the high end metal detectors, you can enter a 5 digit code before you can operate the detector.

We've read about some stolen detectors here and i think it would be useful to a point where at least we'll give those thieves a hard time before they can sell the merchandise.

The code cannot be reset by simply removing the battery or turning it off and on again. Only the original buyer who programmed the code can access it and if forgoten they can call the manufacturer for the reset code by simply giving them some info like D.O.B, etc.

Thanks for your time!
