Seeded Club Hunt Today

We had our seeded club hunt today, and it was great. For those of you who don't know what the seeded hunt is, I will explain. You pay a nominal fee and the club uses all the money to buy silver coins. They then "plant" the coins in a field and the people who signed up line up around the field. On your mark, get set, go!!! The detectors look more like weed whips than detectors. You swing as fast as you can and find as much silver as possible. The coins are only 2" deep, maybe slighty deeper. There are also prize tokens to find, which allow you a turn to pick from the prize table. There is a pot luck lunch, camping for those who want to come out on Saturday, and a great deal of fellowship.

I have included two pictures, the first is the silver I was able to find. I am very pleased with my "take" for the hunts. The second picture is of the things I found scanning the grounds between hunts. The hunt took place at the Michigan Flywheelers Museum in South Haven, a beautiful location with close to 80 acres to play on. They recently had a big show where people from all over come to buy, sell, trade and whatever with the old tractors and steam driven engines. Part of the festivities is the flea market area. That is where I found the extra goodies. The train is a hat pin, the gold plate is a boy scout flag plate, the necklace is a deer bone with a piece of turquiose, the ring is silver with a possible onyx stone. Then there is the key, two metal beads, and the mystery item.

Anna and I had a great time and look forward to next springs hunt.

Ya did good on finding the silver and other items, Malaquin, and I used to find seeded coins and prize tokens and I miss the club hunts but I am just unable to go to the meetings any more or participate in the hunts! The Midwest Shooters and Historical Club Hunt will be soon amd fun will be had,as it is a joyous time to be together with the club members!

May you and Anna do well in the hunts and in detecting for goodies! Have fun and be happy! :)

God Bless!

The two items on the bottom right look like the thread-on tips of spark plugs from the antique engine show.

What a great haul of silver !! And a bunch of dug goodies otherwise also. Sure sounds like fun, Steve in so az

I looked inside and did not see any threading, would they just slip on or snap into place? Someone else suggested the spark plug tip idea, but was confounded by the lack of threads.

You found some great stuff between hunts! :)
