Seeing as people are posting pictures of their trash vs finds...

I figured I'd share mine for the last week. This is all from 1 site in 4 hunts or so since last weekend, and using the SEF 10x12. And this doesn't count a few of the 1 pound plus pieces of iron still sitting out at the site since they wouldn't fit in my pouch.

In case anybody's wondering how many nails I dug, I counted, there's 71 of them. (and I wasn't going out of my way to dig nails, these are just the ones that managed to generate high tones from falsing.)

There's 25 pulltabs (there's probably at least that many more left in the ground I didn't bother digging once I got tired with them. Next couple passes of the place I'll get most of the rest of the pulltabs and see if any of them are really another flying eagle. Usually by the time I move on, it's hard to find anything but iron.

I did keep digging absolutely everything that showed a high conductivity number in smartfind, hence all the nails. I notice a lot of the nails only gave a high tone in one sweep axis (back and forth), and didn't give a good signal from 90 degrees. Typical nail behavior, but at lot of the non-ferrous stuff displayed similar behavior due to iron nearby.

For the good stuff, looks like I got about 25-30 coins. 1 large cent, 1 flying eagle, 2 indians, 12-15 wheats, and the balance memorials or clad. No silver for whatever reason, but I don't figure I'm passing it over given all the wheats and older stuff I've dug.
I bet I'm missing some stuff for lack of separation though, given the trash level. (the whole front yard is maybe 60x50, and the front 2/3 seems like it's been dug out and filled in the past and doesn't have many signals, so virtually all this stuff came from a 50x20 area.) Need to come back with a smaller coil.

Great job!!! This is most of what I dug today, I did find some copper plates like 3"x6" & some large iron pieces (too big for my pouch) that I left on top of a stump.

It's good to see a bit of junk displayed from time to time. Some newbies can get the idea that you only recover good targets and that theyare doing something wrong.

place Guvner and I were hunting at a couple of weeks ago. I knew 90% of it was iron and was making a conscious effort to get it out of the way for the next trip. Okay...okay...maybe not 90% ..but most of it:bouncy:

There's one thing conspicuously missing from that photo. IRON. Generally if you're not digging any nails or other iron. you're probably missing at least a few iffy coins or other deep non-ferrous items. Or you somehow managed to find a place without any iron (congrats in that case)

Here's my trash & finds from this Saturday morning. Btw, we've been pounding this site hard for the past two months. It still keeps producing though...found more wheats (7) than any prior hunts.
