SEF 12x10

I just received my SEF coil today, from Kelly Co. I will be trying it out all day tomorrow.

One thing I noticed about the coil, the cover is loose. Does this cover come off easily? Just wondering about water and dirt getting inbetween the coil and cover.

Personally i like how easy it comes off for cleaning. Ive used other coils and its like an all day job. Yes water and dirt does get between them, but takes a second to clean. If you use it on the beach you will need to come up with a method to seal it or something elce like epoxy, rino liner something durable not that the bottom of the coil isnt. The SEF doesnt seem to be as noisy as the slimline when it comes to getting a tiny bit of sand under the coil thou. HH

Thanks...Just wanted to make sure I could take it off, before I did. I am going over an area that I have already gone over to see if I pick up new targets. Then I am going to another area and compare my slimline and joey against the SEF.

It does come off easier than some of the other coils but it make s a quick in-field inspection and/or cleaning a snap. I don't mind this at all. It's not like it will pop off unintentionally or unexpectedly. Given it's shape, if it were too snug, it could be a real bear to get off. Now I can't speak for the beach and sand but it hasn't gotten too much of anything in between it and the coil in the parks - at least thus far.

I found that my SEF chatters a lot. I backed off sens, I tried in semi and manual.. About the same. Then I turned down varibility and it seem to help. I had it at 10 and changed it to 8. Odd...

give me a call, we may have to swap it out.
