SEF COILS

As far as I know Kellyco is the only SEF dealer in the US and it appears they don't carry the 8x6 for Teknetics or Fisher.

SEFs are great coils. I have the 12" and 15" SEFs on my T2 and like them very much.

I wouldn't expect an 8 inch coil to have very good performance. It's just too big to work well in trash. I doubt it would find anything that the 11 inch couldn't get. Coils between 6 and 10 inches are kind of in a performance dead zone. I don't know why companies insist on making coils in that size range.

Well I have just ordred one after speaking to a fello detectorist who has used one with good effect in trashy areas.I will let you know how it gets on in my iron infested ancient site. But at the moment ground conditions in the UK are horible

So far I have been unable to get onto my fields due to the wet conditions in the UK.I tried in air tests and the 8x6 gives 7.5" on a 20mm Roman coin the standard coil gave just about 8.75" so a marginal in air difference.
