Hi all, If this is not the place for this post please move, thank you. I have 2 sef coils and was wondering has anybody made a solid skid plate for the bottom of the coil to use in brushy areas where the coil tends to get hung up? If so what material did you use? Thanks all and HH.

Seen a guy that used old frisbees to make skid plates from. Seemed odd but he swore they last forever and had no ill effect on performance. HH Dave

I made inserts for my 8X6 SEF out of black rigid styrofoam. Get a piece at least the size of our coil, lay coil on top, trace with white grease pencil. Inside open areas, trim gap fillers just a little larger 1/8th.inch or 1/16th. inch larger than what you traced, then just press fit into the open parts. Make a few extras because they will get loose after awhile.......nge P.S. They don't add any weigh to your coil(s).
