Is a Pi detector that is more sensitive to lead also better at detecting gold.

Hi George,
Since no one has answered you yet, I will try. Yes, generally speaking, if a PI is more sensitive to lead, it will be more sensitive to gold. Both lead and gold are are not the best conductors, so they will have shorter time constants. This will result in the signal from either one dying off very quickly.
To assure such signals are detected, especially for small objects, a shorter delay is necessary.
In other words, being able to sample sooner will allow the detector to detect smaller gold or lead.
So, if a detector can detect lead well, it should do just fine on gold.

Thanks Reg,
I asked the question because I have just purchased a new detector and it seems to be very sensitive to Lead and also very small objects staples fish, hooks etc when compared to my previous detector.
