Serious Question for people that know about GOLD.......

If I wanted to buy gold how do I know if it 24K ?? Can some one gold plate some lead and sell it for pure gold ??

Very rare will you find any piece of jewelry that is solid 24K. It has to be mixed with other metals for strength. The highest that you will find mostly is 22K. 14K is most popular.

Hello Elson, are you looking to purchase gold coins or bars? If so I would only buy from a reputable dealer like Apmex. If your buying local don't buy any Chinese Pandas or anything exotic but instead Gold American Eagles or Canadian Maple leafs and bring a micrometer and gram scale to verify size and weight.
