setting f75 to run im iron

Need more info to help with a more accurate answer; What are you searching for? What kind of heavy iron? nails, farm equipment? or just high iron soil? How many hours do you have on the f-75? Are you new at detecting? Where on the globe are you?

The F75 is a multipurpose metal detector. Its most popular uses are coinshooting
and relic hunting, and it is also well-suited to gold prospecting

NOTCH allows you to select target ranges equal to 1/2 of each category for inclusion or
exclusion from detection. As you rotate the knob, the target indicator will appear above the
range currently selected. If you set the notch value anywhere within the range, the notch value
will not necessarily stop at this number, notch ranges are fixed as follows:
1. 1-7 iron ....6. 31-35 nickel
2. 8-15 iron ...7. 36-45 tab
3. 16-20 foil... 8. 46-55 tab
4. 21-25 foil ...9. 56-60 zinc
5. 26-30 nickel .10. 61-65 zinc



Disc set at 15 pretty much takes small iron out. You also have to remember the F75 was made with Relic Hunting in mind, but works very well as a coin machine.

You have to adapt the detector to what you want to use it for.. You have to accept it will never do one type of detecting perfectly, but is capable of doing many types of detecting very well..

The Teknetics version another First Texas detector set up in the same ergonomics ( Frame) has iron resolution at 40..so it does coin hunting a little better in my opinion, yet does great in relics when set up correctly.
