Setting up the Xterra 705 for beach hunting

cocksie46

New member
G'day All from Aussie land, I have just purchased a new Xterra 705 with the Std. 9" coil and also the 10"x5" DD coil. I wish to go beach hunting on salt water beaches and my question is : which coil to use, do you ground balance as normal or just put it in beach mode, do you enable tracking as well? I'm just a little bit confused as to how to set it up, any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Both the coils you have will work just fine, but the 10.5" HF DD, Coiltek 15" MF DD WOT, or the 9" HF CC are the best beach coils in my opinion(IMO).

In wet saltwater sand you will have reduced performance with any single frequency VLF. But in dry saltwater sand you will be just fine(100%) working in that. For wet saltwater sand use a Minelab BBS or FBS machine for the most performance.

You can use Coin & Treasure then All Metal(or knock out all -minus numbers) with Beach Tracking.
