settings for naggs head

Well the dry sand is very clear there so turn the preamp gain way up.
The salt wet sand has minerals in it so use about 2 or 3 and hunt in jewelry mode. Sorry thats XLT lingo.
Just use stock jewelry mode and let the detector adjust.
Try the beach access points. Try points on map where name of town shows. These are oldest. Try Nags Head Kitty Hawk and Carolla near light house on beach. Near lifegaurd stands. Restaurants with bars on sand. Particulary Guagmires around back.
This is all recent droped stuff on beaches.
For old stuff you need to arrive after a big storm or hurricane. OR hunt off the beach on opposite side of island. Manteo is great for old coins if you can get pemission. Look at a map and just go opposite side of the ocean side.
Up above Carolla in the area with no roads is where the nice finds come afetr a storm. 4wd
