Bleeding update.
Posted 14 hours ago
It appears that the bleeding has stopped. We didn't see any sign of blood around his mouth or on his sheets. It must have stopped because the way he sleeps sitting up with his head hanging down the blood should drip out of his mouth.
There wasn't any blood in his trach when he suctioned and that is another good sign!
But, we are still very concerned because that is how it all started last fall.
Thank you for your prayers!!

...Brian is very frightened right now. Carol cleaned more blood, including a small clot, from Brian's mouth this morning while I was at church.
Brian wrote another "why is this happening" note to her. I'll share it later when I have more time.
He asked me to play Scrabble with him because he wants me to stay in the room with him.
Thanks for continuing to pray!!

...no more bleeding today...so far. Brian has some money he just HAS to put into circulation...to help the economy, you know! So, Carol and I are going to attempt to take him to Target later if he feels like he can make it.
Thanks for keeping us in your prayers!!

Today turned out to be a great day. It appears (I'm almost afraid to say it) that the bleeding has stopped. Please Lord...stop the flow!!
We managed to get Brian out again to go shopping and we had a great time. Brian wore down pretty quick though. It seemed like he had no sooner spent all his money (and some of ours), that he was ready to go home!! Funny how that works.
It really does tire him out though. When we got home he took a bath to get ready for tomorrows surgery. He is really afraid of the surgery for some reason but this one is really very simple and shouldn't take too long.
We also discovered a way to save my back. He can pretty much slide from the wheelchair into the car seat of the Honda on his own. No more lifting for me now.
Thank you,
Doug, Carol, Sarah and Brian

I pray that all will go well with the surgery and will be over with quickly and prayers for the calming of Brian with faith in Jesus to know that He is with Him with comforting and healing love! Amen!
