Sewer cap? say no...

Ok so the lot where this turned up has been vacant from at least the 1930s but it is an in town residential area location. The Item is iron. 8 inches long. OD of lower part is 4". Appears that the hollow part does not go into the bell or knob area. The top looks like its been plugged with a different material not sure how solid. My first impression was sewer cap but I can't explain the knob end. Hoping its something a little more interesting like a horse hitch post or something. Give me some hope guys or put the nails in the coffin - my huntin partner is bustin my chops for carrying home a sewer pipe. <BigGrin>
