Shady areas of beaches

This is only my second year in this hobby, so I still have a lot to learn. I am old and creaky, so digging in the ground is not any fun, so I am a beach person, because I can do this while standing up. I have always worked the beach areas where people put out there towels and blankets. What I had not tried was working the shady areas away from the water. From now on, I am looking for those shady areas.

I had the happiest two hours today working in the shade. I have never found so many coins, including an Anthony silver dollar, and two silver rings. One of these days I am going to find some gold.

Lake Erie is slowly warming up and then I can finally go back into the water.

There's an old saying that applies here ' you've got it made in the shade'. Glad to hear your having fun with the hoppy.

I like that shady idea, too. What kind of beaches are you hunting? The salt water ones I get to don't have a tree around for fifty yards or more. Condos and hotels pretty far back as well. HH jim tn

I live on the southern shore of Lake Erie, about twenty miles west of Cleveland. No salt here, just nasty black sand.
