Sharp Morgan Silver Dollar and Others

Thanks for taking a look and the comments Rick!
I remember years ago James mentioning that old dog tag you found. That is quite a find. My oldest was a ND 1908 dog tag which was in very good condition.

I have been lucky enough to pull 6 morgan silver dollars over the years. The newest one was 1897.
3 from ND
2 from MN
1 from IA

take care,
Dave
What a nice bunch of stuff, that silver dollar is in real great shape wish the 3 I found were as nice as that one, think mine were in circulation but still nice finds. finds.
Make me sad I couldn't go out when seeing finds like this, but still like to see great finds found here in ND and MN. as most say there is nothing left to find, but with a good detector, and some research plus patience and a great person holding the detector anything is possible.
Someone says the Silver dollar you found is older than ND, but ND was here several years earlier, but became a state in 1877 and I found a 1876 Dog tag that was from DT Dakota Territory and had a collector that collect trade tokens offer me a very nice $5 gold piece(hard to pass up that deal) If it would have been stamped DT he would have gave me the big bucks.
Anyway Dave you got me interested in getting out again and probably get carried back home.
Talk to you later Dave.

thanks Donna,
yes I was very lucky I didnt hit that morgan with it being on edge.
a $10 gold piece is something I cant even imagine pulling out of the hole.
I have gotten a fair amount of gold rings but no gold coins.
Ive found a few Morgan's and each one was a shocker !!! You are soo lucky you didnt nick the coin. For some reason, when I find a big coin, deep, some how I always seem to nick it with the shovel. Dont ask about my 1910 $10 piece I sliced across the face !!!! Cried all the the way home !!! My 1st gold coin !!!!

Beautiful collection of coins & artifacts. Think I need to find some farm fields. The beaches have been barren.

WTG !!

yes it does make a great centerpiece. I think I have found a couple of those 'gold shell' stamped ring. From the depth it has to have some age to it. Yes, the cold wind was brutal.
That Morgan makes a nice centerpiece in the silver shot! Great job not nicking it in the recovery process. Never heard of the "shell" plate before. Cool digs LOL as it was 28 here with the wind howling, hunting was tough.
