SharpShooter Question

I'm a newbi here was looking into buying the Sharpshooter or the QDII model. I believe the no-motion all metal mode on the SS2 is probably a worthwhile feature to buy, but it doesn't appear that the SS2 has a target depth indication on the LCD, as does the lower priced QDII. So my question is, is the depth indicator really usefull or not? If it was I would have thought that this feature would be included with SS2, right?

if you can , have a look at the landstar. it has true no motion all metal mode and ground balancing. i had a bh 505 which i think is about the same as the sharpshooter, then got the landstar and for me it was a big improvement. there is a dealer that i saw the other day, that is selling new landstars with 5 yr warranty for $219, plus $20 shipping.

I agree...I also have owned only Bounty Hunters, from the 202 to tthe 505 and now the land Star...I found only pennies with the 202, got a little better with the 505, and now, I am finding silver and rings with the Land Star. It has great discrimination, accurate depth readings on coin size objects. the manual ground balance is a must with the All-Metal Modes. If you want to buy just one detector to begin with, the Land Star should be your choice in the Bounty Hunter Line...My next detector will be the Time Ranger, then I might branch out to White's or the Garret GTI 2500 (Only for it's reported target ID accuracy and Depth with the Eagle Eye Coil).

Happy Hunting, and get the Land Star,
