She was working in her shop (converted garage) and told me she needed a sharp knife from the house and could I please get her a drink of something cold.
I went up to the house and poured her some red kool=aid and went through the 'knife drawer' and pulled out about 15 knives...no idea which one would be best for her needs. So tried carrying the handfull of kitchen knives in one hand and the drink in the other.
Got to the back utility room where our washer and dryer is....and is the 'bedroom for our little Dobie'

When he is not in his bedroom he wears 'pants' to keep him from wetting on things in the house. So Dobie was in bed and we have a child gate across the doorway to keep him in that area overnight.
Not having any free hands I couldn't unlatch the gate so I stepped over...or tried to step over..I tripped...the knives went flying, the kool=aid cup hit the floor and red kool=aid was everywhere and I hit the floor hard with my left knee and I could not get up...all I could do was hold my knee in pain. I yelled for Sherry but she did not hear my yells for help. I was able to get a shoe off and started hitting the door with it trying to get her attention.
She finally came...to find out why I hadn't brought her drink and what 'construction project' I had started that I was doing all the banging about ...and where was that knife she needed?
Talk about the look of surprise in her eyes...she did not hear me tell her that the red stuff is her kool=aid....all she saw was knives all over the floor, red stuff that looked like blood, me moaing in pain....she thought I had cut myself (and me being on blood thinners didn't make this any easier to digest at first glance).
What a mess I had made! We can laugh at the 'sight' of this now but wasn't funny then. I may have broken my knee...I don't know but I put ice on it right away. I have a hard time walking on it...especially steps or turns.
I think my knee is bruised and maybe pulled some muscles making even standing from a seated position difficult to do. I think Sherry realizes now...not to ask me to get her 'a knife'.
(I never do things in half measures....when I mess up I do it to the best of my abilities hahahahaha).
No detecting for a while now that I can hardly walk. (Glad I kept the cane I have at home with me).

...I took the skin off on the right side of it;bad bruise-My knee still hurts a little if I kneel on it just right...The good news is I guess your knees can take a pretty good whallop, and just be bruised, takes a LONG time to go away-I went down on it with all 250 lbs.of me flyin thru the air and landed on the cushiony-soft surface of the sidewalk
