Sherry and her sister Gwen are still at the hospital in Saginaw. After Gwen went back in the other night they decided to admit Sherry after all. Sherry has seen a Neurologist and had a catscan done with contrast. One reason that people have such headaches after a spinal tap is that it is still leaking spinal fluid. They did a 'blood patch' to seal any leaking. If this was the problem Sherry would notice immediate relief. She didn't get relief and the doctor said he had never done a blood patch on someone who had been in such pain for such a long time. He said maybe it would take longer. So far it hasn't helped. So they are working on a combination of medicines to break the cycle of pain. So far as I know the pain has not gone away but Sherry's pain level is much lower and doesn't accellerate as it does with just plain movement.
The medical staff is now attentive to what is being said and no one is jumping to conclusions as they did when they first arrived. Sherry is pretty happy with the staff at this point and feels much better. I'd feel better if she were pain free again and had her life back as it was before. Even the State Health and Welfare people are working towards getting Sherry on Medicaid. II have to give Gwen credit for sticking to her guns and most of all giving credit for the answered prayers of all those who have prayed for Sherry to get better. I have yet to speak with her today so do not know what new is going on. Just called her and woke her. Will call her back later so she can sleep.
