Short hunt yields a couple finds.

Got out for a short time on Wednesday and found a few things. I got a Mercury Dime dated 1943-d, 3 Wheats dated 1939,1940-d and 1950-d., and a really neat Old Toy Anvil made from Solid Lead. It is 3-3/8" Long and 1-1/2" High and has no Manufacturer on it. I wonder how Old the Anvil is and who made it? Found it doing a boulevard in front of a house that is vacant due to mold inside (that's what I hear the reason is). Not too many finds during this hunt but I thought you would like to see the Anvil. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH to you.[attachment 101689 DirtyFinds.jpg][attachment 101695 CleanedFinds.jpg]

James...you NoDak guys are continually making fantastic finds! I am impressed every time I see one of your posts. I always anxiously await seeing the next one. I started metal detecting back in 1970 and was stationed in Minot, North Dakota for two years...and I always ask myself, "Why didn't I bring my metal detector along?" Now I see what I could have found.

North West in the Minot area but I am sure there is some great Coins to be had up there just as there is down here. Takes time and patience for some of my finds but eventually I will get enough to meet my quota, or close to it. Stay tuned for the Hunt Results and what else I found for actual finds during the weekend. Yes, that's right Charles! 2 Post's this time and I hope to bring in a haul. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you.

That Toy will look great in my Display Case along with everything else. Only thing is that I will be needing another Display Curio Case soon. Geez! I wonder why? Good Luck and HH Bryce if you get out during the weekend.

if all the Lead Toys back then had Lead Paint or if the Lead will leech into Paint, thus really making them an unsafe Toy? But hey! They sure are neat to find! Good Luck and HH GR.

I like the concept of the before/after pics of said finds. I can't recall anyone on here doing such a thing. A nice touch to show the nuances of the "dirty find" and then the beautified condition.

start to post my finds like this so everyone could see what the before and after pics looked like, and to also prove that the finds I posted are from the ground. I use to post without the dirty pics and I would have anywhere from 10 to close to 20 Silver sometimes along with all the Wheats and other finds and I am sure there were a few that were skeptical in believing my posts. So that is why I do it this way. If you don't know who Skully is, I am sure he will be posting finds from Lake hunting anytime here soon. He could be posting over on the Beach and Water Forum also. Glad you like the before and after pics and Good Luck and HH to you.
