Short Videos - Stock Coil Vs. 6X8 SEF on 8" Silver Ring and 8" Coin

I found these targets today and compared signals. I have to say I am very impressed with the 6X8 SEF coil. No, it doesn't always hit as well as the stock on targets 8" deep but it hits there and on silver coins I just know this coil will go down to 10". Of course it's not a coil for depth but one of separation and getting into tight places, but knowing you can get this kind of depth is incredible.

Short Videos, Enjoy - Albert

More great video's and information :) I've only had my e-trac for 5 days now, but after watching all your video's and reading the forums here I already feel really comfortable with this machine.. Last night I found my first Half Dime 1843! She's kinda rough looking, but she's all mine . I'm considering a smaller coil now for my trashy spots, I've played with TTF, but I can see thats going to take me some time to get full use.Albert I wonder how the other manufactures small coils compare to your SEF6x8. I can't really see them going any deeper, but maybe a 5"-6" coil might snipe a little better.... Either way , that SEF is really sweet looking, and deep!

Thanks for the great demo!

YOU JUST FOUND YOUR FIRST 1843 HALF DIME AFTER 5 DAYS OF OWNERSHIP OF THE ET ?

YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING.........AMAZING!!!!!

And Albert, I assume you have ground neutral because you have no trash in the ground? HUH
You are in an area where shrapnel and such have rained down in that area from the 1940's and before

Also, I believe the smaller coil makes a much fainter noise than the standard coil which would have convinced me to dig
sooner than the smaller coil sounds

Again Albert, Thank You for your time it is very much a learning experience

Regards and HH

Tom - I work PT by definition (English Teacher) so I try to put most of my classes in two or three days and right now things are slow in Europe - so it's the former!
It is snowing now, looks like I may have filmed my last video for a few months. I knew this day would come...

Eva - My ground is at Neutral because it is quieter at a higher setting than difficult. I just followed the instructions in the book. The Neutral setting is about the soil composition, not the trash level (maybe there is a relationship but the manual doesn't mention it.) I have trash density on high, which is about the ground trash level (and iron) because my ground has lots of iron, not lots of trash. I am surprised I don't find more shrapnel - I think the little pieces of copper or metal that I find is but I don't find it often and it's usually deep - probably why I don't find the smaller bits.

Sorry, but they deleted the other videos on the 12X13 NEL Tornado cause the sponsors don't sell them and they must have complained? I wish they would PM me after doing that just out of respect. Anyway, you guys can see those videos on my youtube channel with no ads and no corporatism. - earthmansurfer69

Thanks,
Albert

Hi Ken - If you are thinking about getting a smaller coil, the 3 coils that I would recommend would be the EXcelerator SEF 6x8, Sunray X5 or the 6" DD EXcelerator EQ 2 Pro. They all are similar in performance and depending on who you ask, everyone of them will be someones favorite.

Thanks again Albert for the videos, hope your snow dosnt last too long :detecting:

have you gone to the dark side with that coil ? you know the one :lmfao:

BlankPlanet - Thanks. To be honest and as upset as I am about getting a post deleted - I mean do I have to click on every sponsor link and find out if what I am talking about is being sold!? - But, I am going to sell the 12X13 NEL Tornado. It doesn't have near the separation of the stock coil and it really throws the balance off. I am going to sell it and already ordered the comparable and newly released Detech coil. I'll do some videos on it when weather allows, not anytime soon... I would have put this in that thread that was released. But just to show I'm impartial I'll mention it here.

Next week temps will go down waaaaay below freezing and I probably won't be able to hunt (Might be over a month or even two before I can). Maybe on Monday I can though. A light snow on the ground is great, it makes "staking areas" as easy as seeing where you walked. I am pretty sore from all the hunting I squeezed in anyway - 24 hours this week on my 3 days off. and like 16 hours a week before that. I put a over 80 hours on the E-Trac in only 6 weeks and in a dream spot. I am sort of content right now, can take a break. I really feel like I know the machine. I'm going to do a write up on it from the perspective of coming from a non-Minelab machine. The sounds and 2D screen are deserving of such.

Anyway I have quite a few more videos to upload but the juicy ones are already up. Except for an 11" tag with iron attached from yesterday. Coin sized and very deep for me. It's worthy of a thread to show the depth, signal response, etc.

Thanks guys and glad you all find the videos helpful - again, my intention,
Albert

Do you mean the 13" Ultimate coil? Looks very similar to the stock coil on the E-Trac, doesn't it.

Thanks for your videos, I watch all of them. Superb stuff for E-Trac newbies like me!

yes i have seen the new white coil looks good and you can talk about it :clapping: will be interesting to see what you think about it :) 2 months wow hope you don't get to jittery  seems just from reading all the posts on here most detectorists are addicts which includes myself i would get withdrawals but it will go fast and give plenty of time for reading and research  that's about best i can do for a pep talk.
can not wait to hear about the new coil.

Thank you very much, .. I Think I'll try the Sunray X5 first, I'm finding some really trashy spots atm , so the smaller the better. Me Thinks:confused:

Albert. I'm sorry for getting a little side-tracked on your thread.

Well you are just Amazing :clapping:

Cannot wait to see what you will find next! Major Cpngrats

And Albert, this neutral difficult ground issue is very interesting and very glad you brought it up
I need to look over my settings and it is mostly because of your efforts..so Thank You Again

In regards to the withdrawal of your post...I will be watching you on Utube and look forward to following you

Best Regards and HH, Eva

Great video...how do you like that 6x8? I'm considering purchasing one!

Hytinaerhi - Yes, the "Ultimate" coil!

Blank Planet - I won't have withdrawls. I actually stopped detecting for 2 or 3 years once since I started 8 years ago. I got a pair of Congas to play over Winter! I do enjoy detecting but I often grow bored with things but before I do I go hard core (probably explains the videos in part, that and me being a "teacher".)

Thanks Eva - Always nice to get a comment from the only woman on the forum. Sort of like finding silver!

Firewxman - I really like the 6X8 for trashier spots but not crazy high trash, then I would get a 5" or 4X6 but those aren't fun for me. I noticed (and you can see it in my videos) that the 6X8 coil seems to spot iron better than the stock. Makes sense and so it's a nice coil in heavier iron spots. I really only want to have one detector and learn it well. And then a small coil for trash, the stock for all round use, and a larger coil or two for more depth. After using the a few coils, I do have to admit that the stock is enough for most uses (but not big open fields or extremely high trash).

Thanks guys and gals,
EMS

I have a gift certificate to use, so I've been thinking about the 6x8...a few of the parks around here I would consider to be fairly high in trash...so I may get one.
