You can do very well with either machine. I have both, and think that the etrac is significantly better. Why? Faster response is the main thing. The adjustable auto, gain, more powerful pin point function and other features are nice too. Advantages of the safari are that it is lighter-better ballanced, less expensive, and the ferrous sounds option is different than the etrac's and in some ways better. HH
