Should of purchased Whites DFX300?

I agree Goes4ever. I use the depth meter more than any other part of the display in our city park. You can use the Spectragraph bar as a depth indicator but a depth meter would have been nice.

a lot of times at certain sites I dig according to depth only, sound or number don't dictate but depth does..........you CANNOT hunt with a DFX like this unless you stop and pinpoint every target!

I do not think David was being sarcastic.

As for the dig it all point of view, you have got to dig a lot of targets to learn what the machine is telling you. After you have an idea of what the machine is saying then start discriminating targets. That is what I did. Yeah I was a bit bummed but I was rewarded in the long run. When I pass on a target now I do not worry to much that I left a good target behind.
