Sidewalk Huntin'

Took a walk around the block today & hunted between the sidewalk and the street. The finds are: five (5) quarters & one (1) penny in the same hole (1959 wheat penny). Also found two dimes, and 2 nickels. Guess I'll have to walk more often.

Yep, I've done that in the playground and fields and found eyeball finds while walking as exercise! The curbs are a good place to hunt, but some people will not like it, as they think it is part of their yard by taking care of and mowing the grass....but from the street to the sidewalk belongs to the city, county or community! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

1959 are memorials. Maybe it was a 1958 wheat? that was the last year.

You're Right Mike! It Is a 1958 and It Is a Wheatie!

Ya'll remember how we're suppose to 'Recheck The Hole' after we recover the initial coin and or item we found in the ground? Well...I found the first quarter, then the second, then the third, etc and the thought that crosssed my mind was - "Oh my gosh...it could be a 'Roll' of quarters!" but then the signals stopped after the fifth one. There was one more signal yet, in the ground, but I did not recover it because I was digging in a very well manacured lawn and the signal was coming from under the root of a small tree and appeared to be a penny and registered extremely deep. So I left it alone. To be sure, many would have gone for the penny without giving any consideration to the land or to the 'Older Generation' watching me but I chose to end it there. I'm extremely pleased with what I did recover and delighted to share it with you all.
