Sidewalk strips # 3

Got out early & did some sidewalk strips. I set a new record - 3 live bullets in one hunt. All 3 were in different places. Also got the T tax token for Tucson, not valuable but hard to find. Dug 50 coins of which 9 were wheats - oldest being 1920. Steve in so az

Hi Steve, Looks like you had a fantastic day. Love finding those tokens. I went out early this morning to start the truck and the starter wouldn't turn over. Mr. hook took me to the local Ford dealer and it turns out the starter solenoid was bad too. So I shelled out over 400 clams and found my way back home.
Looks like you had a better day.:clapping:

I'm really itching to get out there but the humidity is unbelievable here in west Michigan and it's a bit too soon after my skin cancer surgery to be in the bright sunlight.

Steve,

you are on fire with working these sidewalk strips. My city is very old and incorporated in May, 1785. The old sidewalks of the original part of town I would be nervous about hunting as it is not the greatest area to be in even during the day lol. There are still a few 1700's houses still standing and many, many 1800's homes. It is too bad what has happened in my city with crime as I am tempted to try what you are doing. With wearing headphones, I would never even hear the person coming. So common sense prevails and tells me, " Jim, don't risk it" So I will continue to hunt my city parks, schools, and when the opportunity comes about - private homes. Thanks for sharing - Jim

There must be a silver coin waiting near all them wheats! I got two live Colt 45 bullets tonight in a lake while looking for a guys wedding ring.

Jim - Good thinking - no dig is worth big trouble. I don't go to the scummiest part of town but while we do have drug problems & all we are not like Detroit or such. Steve

Steve you still killing it I see, congrats sir!

I agree with your statement. Common sense still prevails - I go with my gut feeling - My gut tells me I may very well find some nice things but it will be no fun if two or three of them jump me and leave me for dead <----- This is a reality on the other end of town. A year or so ago, a guy (minding his own business) was jumped and knifed by a small group of thugs. All that he was doing was walking to the corner store to get something to drink. I could certainly defend myself against one thug...however they usually don't attack alone.. they are all cowards until they band together to take down their prey. I was at my local park on the bad side of town and it was just becoming dusk.... I am scanning an area near the old beach and thank God I looked up and to my left. This guy was headed right for me but when he realized I spotted him, he changed his mind and walked right pass me. That lesche digger I was carrying was ready for attack mode. I knew then it was time to get out of this place and go home. This area was never like this 20 + years ago. It was such a nice park to visit. Such decay in my town it is hard to believe what my city has turned into. I wish I had someone to go with. My brother does detect but not with the determination like me lol Stay safe and keep hitting those sidewalk strips. - Jim
