hello all, shown are some of the items you would expect to find on old homesites. when your're finding stuff like this, then you know your're close!!! such finds can quickly date the site for you, along with any coins you might find. old pieces of china, solid metal toys, mason jar lids, old knives, pocketwatches, thimbles, and even old solid brass upholstery tacks can tell you a lot about the place your're hunting. there's even an old house number 8 in there. enjoy the pics, and hh,

What a great link to the past. I am envious of east coasters for their superior colonial hunting grounds. Your state was already getting its senior discount at Denny's before mine was even born. I'm a little envious of the west coast gold region too come to think of it. oh well. VERY NICE!

dont be jealous of us on the west. places to hunt for gold are not easy to come by. alot of it is state or fed owned and you cant detect there. only gold pan.. which is fun to. i happen to live driving distince to coloma where sutter found the first gold that started the whole gold rush. its a real neat park. i have gold panned the coloma river alot. i like the old toy planes.
