Jim I notice that nowhere in your posts do you say you switched to A/M when trying to get a tone on the unknown target, identified as true silver by the Etrac. I assume you put your coil right on top of the unknown target and that it gave you a null in Disc. Would A/M have exposed iron? Would A/M have expose the silver target? Maybe the iron and maybe the silver. Yes folks you can identify silver using A/M. I gave up on the Tornado 10 inch coil in trash long ago. One little piece of iron crap under that coil with good silver under there too and it turned itself off. Especially with very small targets. It is my feeling that doing the Sov wiggle directly over the target would not build a Disc tone on the silver with a minute piece of iron under the coil too. Of course your point is you should have picked up on that clear silver signal from the get-go and surely with all that discrimination notch stuff, mask on and off, etc., eventually get a good tone and that the Etrac had no problem and therefor is the better pick in your trash parks. I won't argue against that , but Critter might have a point on it being a coil problem. I'm thinking with my 8 inch Concentric I would have got a tone on that dime. OK Mr Demille--fade me to black.
